Calling all saxophonists!

  • It’s that time of year again - the Fall 2023 semester of ASEYouth (Austin Saxophone Ensemble - Youth) is here! This is an amazing opportunity for middle and high school saxophonists to rehearse and perform in a large saxophone ensemble, expand their musical horizons beyond band, and work with the top-flight saxophonists of the Austin Saxophone Ensemble. We have a ton of fun every semester, and we can’t wait for you to join us!

  • For complete information, please view details below. Applications (submitted online) are due by Sunday, October 22 at 11:59 p.m.

  • Apply now! https://austinsaxophone.com/aseyouth/ensembles/

How do I become a member of ASEYouth?

  • Fill out the online submission form here

  • Make sure you have included your audition recordings!

Audition Recording Guidelines

  • Please submit two (2) short musical excerpts via electronic recording, each no longer than 30 seconds. The easiest is to use your phone or computer to record, though you may use whatever method you prefer.

  • Preferably, there should be one fast excerpt and one slow excerpt. Portions of your solo music are generally a good choice, though you should play pieces of music that you are comfortable with and showcase your best sound and skill.

  • We recognize that not everyone who wants to participate is at the same place in their development, and we want to make sure to communicate that ASEYouth is a caring and supportive yet challenging environment for all young saxophone students to grow and learn from the instructors and from each other. Simply aim to put your best foot forward!

  • Upload your recordings into the submission form by dragging the attachments to the box.

Tuition for ASEYouth will be $150 per semester. This will include 3 complimentary tickets to any ASE concert for you, family, or friends to use!

Limited scholarships and work-study opportunities are available. Please check the appropriate box in the submission form if you are interested.
