Hello Dragon Band Students, Parents and Families,
We had a good Winter Concert on Monday, thank you to everyone who attended!
Good luck to our Varsity Winter Guard as they head to Dallas for the WGI Regional this weekend!
Speaking of guard - we will be having our color guard and our new dance team next fall. Both groups will be participating as part of the varsity marching band and all plans are being made with both groups included.
And speaking of the varsity marching show - you may be interested in the concept document if you’ve not already seen it. This is a working document so not everything written or shown will be included exactly as presented. Our new drill writer has already mocked up a fantastic statge layout and numerous big effect sets! Winds should have the first notes on paper in the next two weeks.
Mulch
Mulch pick up on Friday, March 1st and then DELIVERY on Saturday, March 2nd.
We will need lots and lots of student and parent help to delivery the mulch!
Sign ups will be posted soon for both pick up and delivery times
Young Artists Competition
We encourage ALL of our students - Color Guard has been added in a Solo Performance Category - to participate in this event as it greatly further their musical skills and development
This is our own solo and ensemble contest and we have talked through the event in our classes
Sign ups are now open and can be found here, the password is DB2324 since this is in the Members section of our website
Prelims- Thursday, April 18th: Semifinals- Friday, May 3rd; Finals- Tuesday, May 14th
The contest format allows for soloists AND small ensembles

Woodwind Day at UMHB
Sunday, February 25 from 1-6 pm in Belton, TX - Open to clarinet, saxophone, and flute players
Students will have the opportunity to play in a large flute, clarinet, or saxophone choir (all attendees participating, all ages and abilities!)
