10.25.24
Hello Dragon Band Students, Parents and Families,
Several parents have asked what happens if the band advances to the UIL State Marching Contest. This year the event is held on Monday-Tuesday, November 11th-12th. In past years the band has performed in prelims on Monday, usually afternoon or early evening, and then stayed overnight for the Tuesday finals which begin mid-morning. The school district funds the hotel, bus and most meals for the event. We won’t know if the group advances to this contest until we go to the Area contest next Saturday. At that point, plans would be made for the State contest.
